Perspective, produced by Aubree Marchione, was an official selection of the Cape May NJ State Film Festival! The film had a wonderful response from the audience. Star of the film, Nick Scott, director Robert Nuzzie, composer Justin LaDeau and Aubree were in attendance to sign autographs and answer questions about the making of the film.

Nick Scott Story Wins Inaugural Arnold Sports Film Festival

“Perspective," a short film about documenting the rise of wheelchair bodybuilder Nick Scott, won the best overall film award in the 1^st Annual Arnold Sports Film Festival.

The new film showcase is part of the Arnold Sports Festival and features short films dedicated to sports and athletes.  Independent producers range from high school students to international professionals.

“Perspective” was produced by Aubree Marchione, NJ, and directed by Robert Nuzzie.  It follows the life of Scott, a paraplegic who lost the use of his legs in an auto accident and has become a record-holding power lifter.  The overall winner’s award took the crystal “Arny” in the International division presented by Arnold Schwarzenegger.  The overall winner also received a trip to visit Schwarzenegger on a Hollywood film set.

The high school division top honors went to Colin Hopkins representing Grove City High School in Central Ohio.   His film, “What I do” depicts Parkour, a non-competitive physical discipline of French origin in which participants run along a route, attempting to negotiate obstacles in the most efficient way. He also received an “Arny” from Schwarzenegger.

Schwarzenegger said the Film Festival is a way to motivate people and inspire them.  It shows anyone can accomplish anything.  The key is “never, ever give up."

Thirty three films were selected for screening out of more than 100 entries, in addition to 17 high school films from 32 entries.

Ideas United, through its Campus MovieFest program works together with the Arnold Sports Festival to present the film festival.  The MovieFest program nurtures budding filmmakers.

Aubree Marchione and Nick Scott competed in their first competition as a dance couple on Friday June 4, 2010. Their athleticism, precision, choreography, and connection lead them to win first place. Their second competition took place on August 11, 2010, also ending in a victory. They now hold the titles of Atlantic Coast Dancesport Champions and Heart of America Dancesport Champions.

TLC Documentary - "The Girl with Tiny Legs"

From February 19-21, 2010, Aubree was in Kansas training Groovability, a wheelchair dance troupe, with the U.S. Wheelchair Dance Association. TLC filmed the entire workshop for their new documentary, "The Girl with Tiny Legs," based on the founder of Groovability, Joanne Fluke. TLC plans to air the documentary this summer. Shriners Hospital for Children

Shriners Hospital for Children is a one-of-a-kind international system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs.

Aubree recently volunteered her time at Shriners Hospital in Chicago to teach a wheelchair dance workshop. The children had a blast learning the foxtrot, chacha, and tango! Click here to read Shriner's report on the workshop.

Mark Slaughter Benefit Concert for Donner-Galbraith Scholarship

Aubree Marchione had the opportunity to be involved in the Mark Slaughter Benefit Concert in Utah on Nov. 17th, 2009. Proceeds from the concert support the Utah Valley University Donner-Galbraith Scholarship Fund. She and Nick were asked to perform their Latin Dance Medley as part of the night's entertainment. They were introduced by the 4 time Oscar Award winning screenwriter, Barry Morrow, and received a standing ovation for their performance. The night was organized by Stephen Carnegie, from Carnegie Entertainment, along with the help of his dynamic crew. Other performances included: Haley Hendrickson, Mark Slaughter, Brady Fullmer, Steve Bush, Adjacent to Nothing, Broke City, Shannon Lee, and more!
